Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) is a standard for sequencing JPEG images to create video. It is often used as a format to store video from security cameras. However, it is inefficient in that it takes significant processing power to perform and the resulting files are comparatively large. A better compression algorithm is MPEG-4.
