DBDB is an abbreviation of Decibel, a measurement of how loud something is. The term is derived from 1/10 (that is one decimal) of the sound of a bell. The Decibel scale is logarithmic and is used in many contexts in addition to sound, including to describe the strength, or power, of a signal.
