Community Antenna Television (CATV) or sometimes referred to as Communal Aerial Television is a technique where one recieves a broadcast signal on one community antenna that is placed in a place with good reception and then rebroadcasts the signal to other devices (televisions) on a different frequency or channel that cannot receive the original signal. It is a method sometimes employed to extend the range of security cameras transmitting over a wireless selecting a digital video recorder (dvr) network.
