Alternating Current (AC). The wiring convention where electricity is transmitted down a pair of wires by alternating the polarity (postive verus negative) between the two wires. By convention the alternating frequency is 60 Hz, but the voltage may vary. 24 Volt AC is a common voltage used in security cameras.
